Highline Students “Make a Difference” | eHighlights

Rebecca MorrisHighline Council PTSA is pleased to announce four Washington state awards and one National recognition award to students in our local PTA Reflections Program. The annual K-12 Reflections art program is open to PTA units across the nation. Each year, participants are asked to respond to a theme in an art form that includes literature, photography, visual arts, music, film/video, and choreography. This year's theme was, "I can make a difference by...." Our state winners from Highline were:

Outstanding Interpretation

Awards of Excellence
Shawn Gilbert, Music - Marvista PTA
Avery Gardner, Dance/Choreography - Marvista PTA
Natalie Gee, Dance/Choreography - Gregory Heights PTA

The Outstanding Interpretation winners were sent to National PTA for judging. Rebecca Morris received an Award of Excellence for her visual arts entry titled "I Can Make a Difference by Walking Away." She received a $200 cash award and a silver-plated Reflections medallion. Congratulations Rebecca for this national award. The theme for 2008-2009 will be "Wow!"
